Biography

The Lead Energy Engineer provides technical leadership in the engineering assessment, preparation, appraisal, and development of energy infrastructure investment projects. He ensures that proposed projects are supported by robust engineering studies, appropriate technology selection, reliable design assumptions, realistic cost estimates, implementable construction plans, and technically sound operating arrangements. The specialist leads and coordinates engineering inputs to project concept development, pre-feasibility and feasibility studies, preliminary and detailed design reviews, technical due diligence, cost estimation, risk assessment, and preparation of projects for procurement and financing. The role supports energy investments across electricity generation, renewable energy, transmission and distribution, energy storage, mini-grids, off-grid systems, and other relevant energy infrastructure. Working with project developers, utilities, engineering consultants, financial analysts, environmental and social safeguards specialists, legal advisers, investors, lenders, and government agencies, the Lead Energy Engineer ensures that engineering considerations are properly reflected in project costs, implementation schedules, risk allocation, technical specifications, and investment decisions. This role contributes to the development of technically robust, cost-effective, sustainable, and investment-ready energy projects capable of attracting public and private financing.
